Canopy Walk & Zipline Adventure in the Philippines: A Full Day of Thrills

Good morning from paradise! We’re still exploring the Philippines, and today’s itinerary is all about action, adrenaline, and incredible views. We’re heading out for the Canopy Walk and then the zipline, two of the most popular adventure activities in the area.

Grab your helmets and harnesses — this one’s going to be a ride.

Starting the Day: Leaving the Hotel

We left our hotel (the Marm… something — still can’t pronounce it!) and headed straight out to find a tricycle. These little three-wheeled taxis are everywhere in the Philippines. They don’t look powerful enough to carry anyone, yet somehow they tackle the roads daily.

We squeezed inside, exchanged “good morning” with the driver, and made our way toward town for the canopy walk entrance.

Arriving at the Canopy Walk

After arriving at the starting point, we crossed the road to buy our tickets.
A quick registration, a little stamp ceremony, and we were officially in.

There were only two couples in our time slot — nice and quiet.

Before heading out, we got our new fashion accessories:

  • Helmet

  • Harness

Safety, but make it stylish.

The Canopy Walk Begins

The trail started gently, but very quickly turned into a full-on hike.
This isn’t a casual walk — it’s up, down, over rocks, through trees, and along wobbly bridges that test every muscle in your core.

At one point, sunglasses were already sacrificed to the wilderness.

We climbed, climbed, and climbed some more.

Reaching the Top: Worth Every Step

Finally — light at the end of the tunnel.

We made it to the top, and the view made the sweat worth it.
Towering limestone cliffs, lush forest, and the landscape stretching all around us.

A few things to note:

  • It’s marketed as a walk, but let’s be clear — it’s a hike.

  • Expect uneven surfaces, steep areas, rocks, and lots of steps.

  • Thankfully, it’s short and cheap (around 430 pesos — roughly £5).

By the time we finished, we were drenched.
Sweat in places we didn’t even know could sweat.
But we beat the heat — finishing just before the midday sun hit.

Next Stop: The Zipline… After a Shower

Before the zipline, we needed one thing:
A shower.
Or a jump in the hotel pool.
Or both.

We were soaked, dusty, and already exhausted — and the day wasn’t over.

After freshening up, we headed out again for part two of the adventure.

The Zipline: Getting There Is the Workout

The journey to the zipline station was intense.

The road was so steep we felt like we were hiking vertically.
A tricycle tried its best to power through — vrooom, or more like vrooo? — but ultimately we had to walk a large part of it.

This was leg day for anyone who’s skipped the gym.

Along the climb we passed:

  • Locals casually walking

  • Kids playing

  • A giant slide-looking contraption we definitely weren’t going to try

  • Houses perched on the hill

  • Views that made the burn slightly more bearable

We reached the top eventually — sweaty, tired, but pretending we weren’t out of breath.

Arriving at the Zipline Base

At the summit, we found:

  • A bar

  • Small restaurants

  • People waiting (lunchtime break… of course)

  • The zipline platform

We had to wait about 45 minutes for the lunch break to end, but once it was our turn — it was GO time.

The Zipline Ride

Helmet on.
Harness fitted.
GoPros ready.

“Let’s go, baby!”

The zipline was fast, loud, breezy, and absolutely thrilling.
The views from above were insane — the cliffs, the water, the trees.

Landing? A little painful, but nothing major.
Worth every second.

Ladies, a small warning: the landing can be a bit rough.
Hold on tight.

Heading Back Down: The Final Challenge

After finishing the zipline, we began the journey back down — which was almost as chaotic as going up.

A narrow path, wobbling between rocks, and finally…

One last obstacle:
Crossing the rough, rocky, wave-filled water to reach Sunset Beach/Bar.

With no water shoes and sharp rocks underfoot, it felt like walking on spikes.

Stubbing.
Slipping.
“Ow ow ow ow ow.”
A big wave nearly taking us out.

But we survived.

Final Thoughts

Today was:

  • Sweaty

  • Steep

  • Chaotic

  • Beautiful

  • Adventurous

  • And absolutely worth doing

The canopy walk was harder than expected, but the views were unreal.
The zipline was pure adrenaline with a perfect backdrop.
If you’re visiting the Philippines and want a mix of nature and thrill — do both.

Now it’s time for food, drinks, and giving our legs a well-deserved rest.
